WGBC Classical Choir Concert Ends in Praises

The 2026 edition of Word of Grace Bible Church (WGBC) Classical Choir Concert, was a huge success with exceptional and soul lifting performances which attracted applause from the congregation.

Leading her charge, Pastor (Mrs) Helen Umana, speaking on the theme of the concert: Praise Him in His Firmament, drawn from Psalm 150:1, emphasized the need for Christian to prioritize giving thanks to God always, for it is the will of God in Christ.

According to her, “If you can wake up, breathe, walk, talk, and eat without assistance, pause and give God thanks.”

Umana maintained that showing gratitude to God open doors of opportunity and bring us unmerited favour. She further commended the Classical Choir for creating a distinctive atmosphere for worship, praying God to imbue them with more strength to propagate the gospel through worship.

The 2026 Classical Choir Concert was coordinated by Choir Director in Diaspora, Mr. Dean Udofia while Otoima Biddy served as the Choir Director and Conductor.

Some of the songs ministered at the concert by Classical Choir and Royal Symphony Orchestra Port Harcourt include: This is the Day, Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, How Excellent, Crimond – The Lord’s my Shepherd, The Voice of Singing, When we get to Heaven, Jesus Lives, Magnify Glorify, The Marvellous Work, among others.

In a goodwill message by the Lead Pastor of Word of Grace Bible Church, Pastor George Umana, he commended Classical Choir for their artistry and creativity to initiate the event and successfully host the third edition of the concert. While applauding their commitment to this spiritual exercise, he urged them not to rest on their oars as God is taking them to a greater height.

In appreciation, the President of WGBC Classical Choir, Mrs. Joy Okpoho thanked the church leadership and everyone for the overwhelming support, sacrifices, encouragement and commitment to the success of the event, praying God to reward them accordingly.

The event featured choir rendition, trio and a playlet, “It is Well” to depict the story behind the song, “It is well with my soul” written by Haratio Spafford.
