… applauds Mfon Ekpo’s Global Knowledge centre
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting knowledge based initiatives that would advance the youth development component of the ARISE Agenda.
Speaking at the Global Knowledge Festival 2026 in Uyo, Friday September 18, the Governor commended the convener of the initiative, Mfon Ekpo, and described the vision as a perfect alignment with the youth development component of his administration’s ARISE Agenda.
He urged the youth to take advantage of the numerous empowerment opportunities in the State, to better discover themselves in skills and innovations that would enable them excel beyond the shores of Nigeria and Africa.
“Let our young people take advantage of this opportunity to turnaround their lives for the better,” he said.
He lauded the establishment of the Global Knowledge Centre in Uyo, stressing that the centre will be a major support to his administration’s Youth Development Centres established across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State, as well as the Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Centre, and the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre.
Earlier, Ekpo disclosed that the initiative is to sell the rich knowledge and innovations of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and Africa to the world for global relevance and respect.
Ekpo explained that the worth and value of Africa is far more glorious and dignifying than the poor image and stories circulated by foreigners who have little or no ideas about what Africa truly entails.
At the event were the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki, Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, Executive Assistant Chief Delivery Advisor, Mr Aniefiok Johnson, members of the State Executive Council, and other government officials.
