2025 International Youth Day: Akwa Ibom State Youth Commissioner Host Stakeholders Roundtable

Yesterday’s robust High-level stakeholders roundtable on the Akwa Ibom Youth Policy and Development Roadmap Review reaffirmed our shared commitment to making Akwa Ibom youths not just beneficiaries of development, but active architects of it.

It was an honour to be part of the historic gathering marking International Youth Day 2025, themed “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.” Organized by the Ministry of Youth Development, Akwa Ibom State.

I commend the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr. Ekerette Ekpenyong Ekanem, for steadily translating the ARISE Agenda of our dear Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno into action. My appreciation also goes to our development partners and all stakeholders for creating a platform where young voices can directly shape the policies that impact their lives.

The Akwa Ibom Youth Policy and Development Roadmap will serve as a compass for coordinated, inclusive, and data-driven actions, aligning our programmes with the SDGs while grounding them in the ARISE Agenda.

I call on all youth leaders, civil society, private sector actors, and partners to move beyond dialogue and translate recommendations into measurable actions that will yield tangible results for our young people.

When we invest in the creativity, resilience, and leadership of our youth, we are not just securing the future; we are building a stronger and more prosperous Akwa Ibom today.

Thank you.
