Governor Umo Eno Rescues Family After Viral Video Appeal

A distressed family in Afaha Idoro, Uyo, has received a lifeline from Governor Umo Eno following a viral video that drew attention to their plight.

The governor, through the Arise Care and Share outreach, provided the household of talented young content creator, “Title Man” with a business start-up kit, household furniture, bedding, food items and solar lighting to improve their living conditions.

The intervention, delivered on World Humanitarian Day by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Emem Ibanga, fulfilled a promise earlier made to the family.

Ibanga said the gesture was a direct reflection of the governor’s vision of people-centred governance.

The ARISE Agenda is humanity in action. Governor Eno believes no family should be left behind, and this is proof of that commitment,” she said.

She also commended comedian Udo Iwat, whose emotional video appeal highlighting the family’s condition coincided with World Humanitarian Week and triggered the swift government response.

In tears, the grandmother of “Title Man” expressed gratitude.

“Governor Umo Eno has given us a lifeline. Today, my family has dignity again. I will forever thank him for remembering us,” she said.

Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda continues to prioritise compassion, social protection and empowerment, with an emphasis on restoring dignity to vulnerable families across Akwa Ibom.
