Allegations Arise That TikToker Mirabel Created a Fake Account Named ‘Priston’ to Frame a Businessman in a Viral Rape Case
A TikTok user named Mirabel, who goes by @mirab351, is facing accusations of fabricating a rape allegation and orchestrating a scheme to impersonate a young entrepreneur, Mr. Godwin Maduagu.
Previously, Mirabel shared emotional videos claiming that an unknown man broke into her apartment on February 15, restrained her, and threatened her by saying that his family’s influence would protect him from facing justice.
However, in an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters on Friday, Alexander Akujieze, the lawyer representing Mr. Godwin Maduagu, asserted that the rape allegation is connected to a deliberate impersonation scheme involving a fraudulent TikTok account named “Priston.”
Akujieze explained that the situation intensified after the Lagos State government released a public notice requesting information about the alleged rapist.
“On Sunday, the girl who claimed she was raped posted a video, which everyone, including myself as a lawyer, saw. You get the picture,” Akujieze stated.
“Then on Monday morning, the Lagos State government published a notice asking anyone with information about the rapist to come forward.”
He added, “Later that same day, my client sent me a WhatsApp message saying that a friend had contacted him and shared some pictures.”
The lawyer detailed that the message from Maduagu’s friend indicated that someone was trying to frame him.
“In that WhatsApp message, his friend mentioned that someone was attempting to set him up, urging him to check TikTok because someone had created a fake account using his image.”
Akujieze stated that the fraudulent TikTok account, known as “Priston,” allegedly began to repeatedly repost Maduagu’s pictures and interacted suspiciously with his official account.
“This account is called Priston. It kept reposting and reposting. Eventually, this fake account even included my client’s handle in its bio, which belongs to Godwin Maduagu.”
He claimed that the impersonator went so far as to publicly comment, taking responsibility for the alleged rape while using the fake profile.
“So the fake account then commented, claiming that he was the one who committed the rape. Coincidentally, the girl at that time also stated that the rapist had sent her a message.”
He stated that the name linked to the supposed message sent to Mirabel resembled that of the fraudulent account.
“Now, take a look at the message that the girl claimed. It bears the same name, Priston. The same fake account.”
Akujieze went on to assert that Mirabel shared screenshots of a message purportedly sent by the rapist detailing the assault.
“The message she claimed the rapist sent included comments about her being sweet and interesting, providing a review of how the incident unfolded.”
“She later returned to social media, stating that the rapist had sent her a review of the crime. This led to a surge of sympathy from the public.”
He noted that the public’s response was immediate and intense.
“Many people visited my client’s profile, unleashing insults, abuse, and threats against him. My client was devastated by the incident.”
Akujieze alleged that his law firm identified similarities between the writing style of the supposed rapist’s message and Mirabel’s own posts.
“As a law firm experienced in criminal law, we were able to analyze the writing style. The way the girl writes is very distinctive.”
“She tends to write in a repetitive manner. We examined her profile and discovered that her writing style is similar to that of the message she claimed was sent to her.”
“In her everyday life on TikTok, she uses that same writing style.”
He added: “If you observe her daily posts, the way she writes is consistent with the style she uses.”
The lawyer connected the situation to an ongoing criminal case involving his client.
“We have a case pending in court, and they came to attack him at his home,” he explained.
Akujieze claimed that individuals previously charged in December had threatened his client.
“When they were brought to court in December, they made threats. They even attempted to use their connections to undermine the case with the DPP.”
He continued: “Now that they believe the government is not interested, they might try to frame my client.”
On February 17, 2026, Maduagu, through his lawyer, submitted a petition to the Area Commander of the Nigerian Police Force, addressing unknown individuals for impersonation and alleged attempts to frame him in the rape allegation.
The petition stated: “We represent Mr. Godwin Maduagu, referred to as our client, and we write on his firm instructions.
“Dear Sir, we wish to bring to your attention a serious matter that requires your immediate action or intervention as this situation is developing.”
The petition characterized Maduagu as “a young businessman and a law-abiding citizen” and noted that he operates a TikTok account under his registered name, GODWIN MADUAGU.
According to the petition, the alleged impersonation led to harassment.
The petition also raised suspicions about two individuals previously charged in court.
It continued, “On February 17, 2026, a business customer and friend named ‘Nuel’ sent our client a WhatsApp message informing him that someone or some people are attempting to set him up by using his name and photos to harass a rape victim he does not know, with the web address https :// lvt. tiktok .com /ZSm AWjRdB/ (Exhibit Attached).
“The impersonator on TikTok, using the username @Priston1866 and the address https ://www .tiktok. com/@priston1866?r = l&t= ZS9403ff0ạK, continued to repost our client’s pictures on his TikTok profile.
“The impersonator linked our client’s TikTok profile in the bio of the impersonating account (Exhibit Attached).
“As a consequence, many TikTok users have inundated our client’s TikTok page with derogatory comments (see attached exhibit). Our client firmly believes that Eniola David Daniel and Onyegbula Francis Gregory, who were brought to court on December 22, 2025, in court 9 Apapa for a criminal case where our client is the complainant, are responsible for the impersonation, as they were upset after their arraignment and vowed to harm our client. Given these circumstances, we kindly request that you treat these issues with utmost urgency and take the necessary severe actions. (See attached exhibit).
In the meantime, Akujieze mentioned that the petition was promptly submitted to the Area Commander.
“That same evening, we went directly to the Area Commander. He reviewed the situation and smiled, indicating that he was aware of what was happening.”
The lawyer stated that the commander allegedly commented that the case might not be as straightforward as it seems.
“The same commander told us directly that we would be shocked to find out that this girl was not raped. We would be surprised to learn that she is being manipulated.”
He further explained that the commander expressed his limitations due to the public nature of the case but assured that an investigation would be initiated.
“He mentioned that his hands were tied because this matter is now in the public eye. The only thing he could say was that he would start an investigation.”
