The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, has commended Governor Umo Eno for his inclusive governance and commitment to grassroots development, particularly his involvement of traditional rulers in the administration of the state.

Archibong spoke on Sunday, September 27, 2026, during the commissioning of the newly built Chairman’s Residence in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, describing the project as a fulfilment of the governor’s promise to bring governance closer to the people.
He said the residence was the third in the series, with over 16 others expected to be commissioned before the end of December. “The building is beautifully designed and equipped with standard facilitie.. It has three living rooms, four bedrooms ensuite, all with toilets, massive kitchen, two-bedroom boys’ quarters, security post with a comfortable kitchen, and a hall that can comfortably carry over 300 people for special meetings.”
Archibong said the ARISE Agenda had positively impacted traditional institutions and communities through people-oriented projects across the 31 local government areas. He added that, the house will midwife the victory of the Senate President, Governor Umo Eno, President Tinubu and other candidates of the APC in 2027.
He also commended the ongoing construction of the Ikot Ekpene International Market and the chairman for the development of the Rafia Park and emulating the Governor’s leadership style.
Speaking at the event, the Special Guest of Honour and Paramount Ruler of Abak Local Government Area, HRM Akuku Sylvester Udofia, JP, who represented Governor Umo Eno, commended the governor for what he described as a landmark achievement.
“This is the first time I am witnessing a government commissioning 39 projects in one month. This has never happened before in the history of Ikot Ekpene and Akwa Ibom. He is a gift to Akwa Ibom State; he has decided to do what words cannot explain.”
The Paramount ruler added: “Through his ARISE Agenda, the state has continued to remain the first in terms of roads, agriculture, education and health. For doing all these, we, the entire traditional rulers, have also resolved to show appreciation by re-electing him en masse come 2027.”
The Executive Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Hon. Aniefiok Nkom, and other stakeholders who delivered goodwill messages commended the administration and expressed support for the Governor’s re-election bid.
