Grassroots Development: EFCMP Pours Encomiums on Esit Eket Council Boss

…Says Uduak Ikot has Written Name in Gold

Members of Eket Federal Constituency Media Professional, EFCMP said they were impress with the performance of the Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Uduak Ikemesit Ikot.

The group made the expression today during its courtesy visit to the council Chairman in her office, followed by inspection of numerous projects and infrastructure development executed by the Chairman’s administration.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the forum, Comrade Enobong Nsima commended the Esit Eket council Boss for changing the narrative of governance, saying evidences abound about Ikot’s effective governance and her impressive performance in infrastructure and human capacity development, ranging from Uquo market renovation, rehabilitation, landscaping of the council secretariat, appointment of numerous residents into her administration, building and furnishing of Compassionate Homes for the needy, as well as other infrastructure development cut across the area.

Nsima also extended his commendation to the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, for allowing the free flow of allocation directly to Local Government Areas in the State, adding that such has aided the massive development projects witnessed by the media professional in Esit Eket as a result of effective and judicious use of public funds.

In their respective remarks, Comrades Unwana Assam, Peace Etop and Edet Friday (Jinx Breaker) among others testified that Mrs Ikot has so far performed and delivered excellently well, adding that when a virtuous woman leads, there is always a difference as shown in Mrs Ikot’s motherly disposition in governance.

Responding, the council Boss said the people have not seen anything development yet, assuring that she came with a motherly mindset, prepared to leave the area better than she met it, in terms of infrastructure, human and economic development.

She pointed out some key interventions her administration has brought into various sectors including education, health, economy, agriculture, youth empowerment and social welfare among others in line with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE agenda.

The media-friendly council Boss further used the medium to urge media professionals to be professional and that professionalism should always reflect in their daily professional discharge of duties. She maintained that her administration is open for genuine ideas, opinions and constructive criticism especially from the media community.
