My Offense was Leaving Islam and Embracing Christianity

By Evangelist Emmanuel Dikko

Religion is wicked; my offense was leaving Islam and embracing Christianity, and my kid sisters began to hate me. I kept showing them love by snicking visiting home to see my family, but the more they hated me, and we have been in this for almost 8 years: no sisterly and brotherly love, no bond, and they hate me because I left Islam while I’ve treated them with the love of Jesus. Finally, for the first time, to have some of my kid sisters visit me- oh, the visit was so amazing; we built back that bond that we lost over 18 years.

My Muslim cousins, sisters, and brothers called me many names; my uncles and aunts hate me; my father rejected me and abandoned me just because I became a Christian, but time has proven them wrong, and I am one of the stars in the family, I am the pillar of the family, I am the pride of the family and the light to my entire lineage family. All hate lost; love is restored, and everyone will call me now; even some Muslims friends are coming back to me, and relatives are coming back too.

My focus and determination in following Jesus brought love and respect back from the family; they regard me as their elder brother. Being an Ex-muslim from northern Nigeria, it’s not easy; that’s why I have encouraged all ex-muslims that keep focus and look up to Jesus by proving them wrong, work hard, don’t be lazy in this journey, and go to school; let them see the light of Jesus in you.

I left home with tears in my heart. I could remember when I finally left my father’s house because the persecution and hatred were much; my mother said Ibrahim leave this house and go practice your Christianity elsewhere so they don’t harm you and that was when I left home in 2013 without knowing where I was going.

I left home without WAEC, NECO, wife, Children, diploma, degree, shelter, or a place to sleep. Praise the Lord. When my sisters visited me for the first time, where I lived, they saw where I lived, they saw my wife, they saw my children, they saw me with a diploma certificate, with a degree certificate. I am now blessed in the same Jesus that they hated me.

One of sister said Yaya so this is you, and tears were rolling out of her eyes, she said Yaya forgive us, I said No problem; I have done that since. My prayer is that you people should know that I love all of you. I don’t know why God gave me 10 female kid sisters from the same Mother and father, but I thank God that you all realized and came back for us to walk as brothers and sisters.

This is a life testimony, and I am sharing this experience so that other ex-muslims will be encouraged and be focused on following Jesus. All the qualifications you saw are through my hard work in Christianity, my focus, my determination, and faithfulness in following Jesus, from 2006 when I confessed Jesus to 2014; it was hell for me; you can’t believe it. It’s Evangelist Ibrahim Dikko. I struggled very hard to write WAEC 2014 without a father, mother, uncle, aunt, brother and sister, but alone I fought, and I said, Lord, give me this WAEC.

Learned how to write and speak English in this journey in Christianity, and to the glory of God I pushed myself to school; by God’s grace, I am a diploma and degree holder. This was achieved when I left my father’s house and left Islam, and that’s why I call Jesus my dream restorer, life saver, soul saver, destiny changer, career builder and above all, my redeemer.
