NUJ Hails Rector’s Appointment of Manasseh Umoette as Acting Director

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, has expressed profound appreciation to the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Mrs Edumma Enobong Essien for appointing one of its members, Elder Manasseh Umoette, as the Acting Director, Directorate of Communication and Related Matters.

In a statement, the State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Nsibiet John , disclosed that the union’s appreciation would be formally conveyed to the Rector through the presentation of a letter during a visit.

The union lauded the Rector’s decision to entrust such a vital responsibility to a tested and seasoned professional, describing the appointment as “highly commendable and reflective of the institution’s commitment to excellence.”

Comrade John said, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, sincerely values this gesture and assures of the Union’s continued collaboration and synergy with the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, especially in areas that promote effective communication, public engagement, and institutional development,”.

He also congratulated Elder Umoette on his new appointment and urged him to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and diligence in the discharge of his duties, noting that his elevation is a source of pride to the journalism community in the state.
