One Year Anniversary: Uduak Ikot Donates 10 Orthopedic Wheelchairs to People with Disabilities, Promises More

Still in the spirit of the celebration of one year in office, Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Uduak Ikemesit Ikot, has donated 10 orthopedic wheelchairs to physically challenged persons in the area.

The Council Boss made the presentation today at the Council Secretariat, Uquo, noting that the gesture was part of the campaign promises she made in appreciation of their unwavering support during the local government elections.

While addressing the beneficiaries, the Council Chairman announced that the donation would be done in batches, with more wheelchairs to be distributed in the coming days. Mrs. Ikot reaffirmed her commitment to fulfilling all her campaign promises.

“During my campaign, I made a promise to support you with wheelchairs, and today, I am here to redeem that promise. Expect more”, Ikot added.

In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Council Boss for the thoughtful gesture, noting that the gesture would go a long way to easing their mobility challenges.

They described the Chairman as a true mother who keeps her word and prayed for God to grant her long life and continued strength, while pledging their unwavering support for her to serve another term in office.
