Rep Panel gives Police 48 hours to produce DG of Fake Agency
The House of Representatives has directed the Inspector-General of Police to produce Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), within 48 hours.
The order was issued by the House committee investigating the operations of the controversial agency during a hearing at the National Assembly.
Lawmakers are probing allegations that the PFIPC, despite not being legally established, secured office space in the Federal Secretariat and received a ₦1.32 billion allocation in the 2026 budget.
The police confirmed that Adeyemi is already facing an eight-count fraud charge before the Federal High Court and that investigations stemmed from petitions alleging he falsely presented himself as the DG of the PFIPC and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council.
The committee also said investigators had identified 29 allegedly forged government documents, including purported approvals from the State House and other federal institutions.
