Unyime Idem flag-off Selection Process for Unyime Idem One Billion Naira Family-based Business Grant Empowerment Initiative
Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem has flag-off selection process for Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem One Billion Naira Family-based Business Grant Empowerment Initiative for his constituents.
He disclosed this through her Facebook post. It reads:
“Last weekend, I flagged off the selection process for the Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem One Billion Naira Family-based Business Grant Empowerment Initiative, in Ukanafun and Oruk Anam local government areas.
“The flag-off signals commencement of the selection process, which is to be carried out in all the villages across Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency by Ward Coordinators, in accordance with the guidelines, which was earlier published.
“Speaking at the flag-off exercise, which took place at Central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk for Ukanafun local government and Mini stadium, Ikot Ibritam, for Oruk Anam local government, I expressed my desire to create millionaires from every family in Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the next few years.
“This initiative is in line with my human capacity development goal for my people. Not everyone will work in government, but we have people who are desirous of doing business or expanding their businesses. This is to cater for them.
“I emphasized the need for Ward Coordinators and other stakeholders involved in the selection process to conduct free, transparent, and seamless exercise across the federal constituency, in line with the guidelines.
“I expect the highest level of transparency and fairness in the process. My aim is to see those who ordinarily wouldn’t have an opportunity to be empowered and emerge as beneficiaries. They are the ones this initiative is targeted at. That’s why we painstakingly outlined the guidelines to reflect my desire.
“I also appealed to the traditional rulers, community heads, and constituents to cooperate with the Coordinators in their respective villages and wards in order to have seamless selection exercise.
“This initiative is targeted at empowering 5000 persons. So, I’m assuring those who will not be chosen this year to be patient, as all the families in the federal constituency will produce beneficiaries.
“Setting the tone for the event, the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, expressed gratitude to me for being selfless and always looking out for the betterment of my people, assuring that the Committee will work in accordance with the guidelines to deliver transparent and seamless empowerment exercise.
“Stakeholders who spoke at both venues were the executive chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Council, Prince Uyoh Ukpanah, his Oruk Anam Counterpart, Hon. Sunday Festus Akpan, the member, Ukanafun State Constituency, Hon. Emem Udom, his Oruk Anam counterpart, Hon. Sampson Idiong, represented by Dr. Paul Udoufia, Obong Eno Akpan, Hon. Sunday Okoko, Hon. Mrs. Grace Ikpong, State Deputy Chairman of the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. David Umoessien, Oruk Anam Chapter chairman of APC, Christopher Nelson, SSA to the Senate President, Aniekan Abraham, represented by Abasiama Etukakpan and Comrade Sylvester Ebong.
“The events were witnessed by the Paramount ruler of Ukanafun Local Government Area, HRM Akuku Engr. Amos Akpan, and that of Oruk Anam Local Government Area, HRM Akuku Engr. J.J. Obosi, among other leaders in the federal constituency.
“They are grateful for the initiative, noting that it is the first of its kind in the federal constituency, and prayed that God will bless me with more resources to keep empowering the people.
