E O Enodien Foundation kick starts as family donates educational materials to school

In celebrating the legacy of Late HH. E. O. Enodien III, the family has donated education materials to pupils of Government Primary School, Idung Iniang, Eket, marking the commencement and the first phase of the foundation’s programmes.

Led by Prince Tommy Enodien, PhD, the family donated school bags, pens, exercise books to about 100 pupils, after careful assessment and selection of the children whose parents and guardians could not afford the items.

Speaking during the occasion, Prince Tommy, revealed that the Enodien Family embarked on the initiative to honour their late father and what he was committed to doing. “Our father was very passionate about education and ensuring that he provided such access to his family and extended it to the community”.

Yielding to the quote attributed to the 32nd American President, Franklin Roosevelt FDR, “we cannot prepare the future for our children, but we can prepare them for the future, Prince Tommy stated that, this is a conscious effort and we are preparing you for the future by providing you with these materials”.

He further expressed optimism of their future, Education is the gateway for greatness. Here we have future Presidents of the nation, first ladies, captains of industries, legislators and great inventors. Our contributions find expression in our belief in quality education”.

Following the Arise Agenda Policy on education of Governor Umo Eno, which offers motivation, especially with His Excellency’s love for education demonstrated through payment of arrears to teachers, gratuities and other facilities, Remodelling of Primary Schools in the 31 LGs, Mr. Tommy, also leaned on the gesture, noting that, if we consolidate this effort, we will achieve sustainable development.

“I want to thank Governor Umo Eno, for all of these great achievements in the education sector, and I strongly believe that these achievements stand as great testimonials of his Golden Leadership which will give Akwa Ibom people strong reasons to support him come 2027”.

While presenting the items, Enodien noted that, “this is the first phase of the educational investment. We will partner with government institutions, individuals and organizations”.

The Supervisor for Education, Eket Local Government, Hon. Elder Daniel Sampson, Obonganwan Comfort T. P. Enodien, Councillor Representing Central 3 Hon. Mercy Ekpe, SA to the Governor, Mr. Mfon Bassey, Ward PA to the Gov. Comr. Itoro Peter, who spoke, threw their support to the initiative, commended the family, while encouraging the children to learn and embrace the opportunity.

On the part of the school administration, the Head Teacher, thanked the family for their support and assured the family that “for the best interest of the community, both the facilities and the children, they’re making their best to produce good eggs for the nation.

In a closing remark, the Village Head Elect of Odoro Enen, Chief George Enodien, who gave a closing remark, assured the community that the initiative will grow to undertake higher responsibilities especially in educational aspects and will cut across all the communities of the Late Patriarch.
