In her brief opening remarks, Ms Francis noted that the gesture was in support of Governor Umo’s ARISE Agenda particularly in educational development, adding that she was inspired by the governor’s genuine commitment to the overall growth of Akwa Ibom people.

“I came today to do what our governor is already doing. The governor has said that in this administration, whether you meet him in person or not, as long as you are an indegene of Akwa Ibom, you must benefit from the government either through the Commissioners, SAs or other appointees of the government.

“It is on that note that I thought it was necessary to come here again, and give my little support to our people to help in sending our children back to school. As school has just resumed. I know you have to buy uniforms, books, and other items. This little support is to help the beneficiaries afford these items,” the governor’s aide stated.

Ms Francis used the occasion to solicit support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Eno and Senator Godswill Akpabio in 2027, noting that the synergy between the trio has brought unprecedented peace, unity and development to Akwa Ibom.

In his goodwill message, the immediate past member, Akwa Ibom State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Mr Leo Leo Umanah, noted that the gesture of the governor’s aide was a demonstration of her love for her boss, Governor Eno and her people but most importantly, an effort to ensure that government gets to the community.

He commended Ms Francis for ensuring that the initiative was targeted at helping those in genuine need, noting that it completely aligns with Governor Eno’s numerous intervention and empowerment programmes for the vulnerable across the State.

“For Aniebiet to remember and come back to support members of her community, it means she is conscious of her people and will bring more empowerment to the community,” Mr Umanah said while urging the beneficiaries to make good use of the support package.

On his part, an elder statesman and stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the area, Mr Gabriel Akpan, said that since her appointment, Ms Francis has been bringing dividends of governance to the community, adding that with the educational support, she has brought more honour to the community and prayed to God to bless her.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ekaette Udoma, thanked the Governor’s Aide for her kind intention towards the community, noting that the support will help many of the families to effortlessly send their children back to school and still have something left for the home.

She also thanked Governor Eno for appointing their daughter into his administration and also giving her the needed support to ensure that she brings the government closer to them through her numerous initiatives.

The event was also attended by prominent members of the community Pastor Ifiok Anthony Afia; Evang Dr Silvia Udoudo; and Pastor Mrs Elizabeth Udosen, among others.
