Gov Aide advises Akwa Ibom Content Creators not to be insulting, combative

By MediaZone Nigeria

Personal Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Media, Ubong Creativity David, has advised Content Creators in Akwa Ibom State to be responsible and make good contents that promote the rich cultural heritage and values of the state, rather than dish out insulting and offensive contents, thereby portraying the state in bad light.

Creativity, gave the advise yesterday, July 7, 2026, in a post he made on his verified Facebook account, expressing disappointment in many who called themselves content creators but are very rude, making offensive contents and used obscene words to gain popularity.

He wrote: “My Dear Akwa Ibom Content Creators, you can have more followers by not being insulting, making offensive contents or being combative. Facebook will not pay you what a corporate organization can offer you by rendering services to them.

He maintained that one can still have more followers on social media platforms and earn good money through ambassadorial deal and marketing of products and services, without going low, stressing that some establishment pay more than what social media can offer, but it all depends on the kind of contents you created.

You can earn good money by signing Ambassadorial deal with brands, corporate organizations, financial institutions, NGOs, donor agencies, etc, by promoting their products and marketing some business concerns. That will only be determined by the kind of contents you make.

He continued; “I’ve visited Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram and Twitter handles of some of our Content Creators and I think we can do better.

No responsible brand will engage someone that is dishing out abusive, repulsive and offensive contents on daily basis no matter the number of followers you have on social media.

He further advised that they can take advantage of their social media handles by promoting just causes, address societal issues, as many are waiting for the information they carried.

You can use your platform to promote a just cause, educate people on societal issues, etc, and there are thousands of people who need the information that you carry. Think about this and act responsibly,Creativity submitted.

CAVEAT: Nsesin ikwa, mbakabak ooo (I only put knife, I am not sliding). God bless us all.

The post drew reactions from the public.

Ekemini Okon Abang, in her reaction said, “Thank you for saying this. Someone had to. The rise of offensive content is honestly becoming disturbing. We can do better.”

Iniobong Jack said, “I thought am the only one observing what the “so called UYO CONTENT CREATURES, NOT CREATORS are doing online.
The insult and abusive way of creating content is not encouraging at all. Their PRESIDENT should call them to order.”

Another Facebooker, Patience Un said, “I think tagging them to this will be much better because seriously Akwa ibom Facebook community is so polluted with insults, abuse and etc, how will you set up your ring light just to start insulting your follower that dropped a comment that doesn’t sit well with you? Well that’s what the people want because if you are creating a decent content they no send your Papa.”

Contributing to the discussion, a popular Akwa Ibom Content Creator, Akan Udom popularly known as Oga Yenne, wrote, “Do they even know what is personal branding? Lol. The move by what brings engagement but they never know engagement and number of followers are not enough.”
