Pastor Umo Eno Admonishes Christian To Focus on God, Not Men

as ANCMI begins 21st Anniversary Convention

As the All Nations Christian Ministry International begins its 21st Anniversary and Discovery Convention, the host and Undershepherd of the church, Pastor Umo Eno, has admonished Christians to always focus on God and His promises.

In his short and inspiring message centred on the theme of the Convention, “They are men, not God,” Pastor Eno who is also the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, urged Christians not to take pride in their own understanding, wealth or thrones for they are mere men, and not God.

Taking his text from Ezekiel 28:1- 8, “… Son of man, say this to the ruler of Tyre. “This is what the Almighty Lord says: You are a very proud man. You say, ‘I am a god and Tyre is my throne. I rule over all the seas around me.’ But, whatever you think, you are only a man. You are not a god,” he said “when you see men who in whatever capacity feel proud, God always has a message for them.”

Speaking further, he said, “This scripture is to let you know, even if you are sick in this Convention, and the Doctors have told you that it is a terminal sickness, they have spoken just as men. God can override that.

“That’s why I encourage you to cast your eyes upon Jesus, but not upon any man or woman. No matter how powerful one may be, we are still subjected to God who is the Almighty.

“I don’t care about might and our influences.I don’t care about our boast and our wealth. All will fade away. There is only one thing that will remain forever, that is God.

“So no man can control your destiny. I said so because I have seen a little bit to know that it is only what God says that will come to pass. Stop bothering about the boast of men. For you, just stay on the Lord’s side. Don’t make men intimidate you,” he added.

Also speaking, Rev Simeon Afolabi of Firstlove Assembly, urged Christians to be particular about the word of God, and ignore negative talks by men, as men would always talk.

Taking his text from Lamentation 3:37, “… who is he that says a thing and it comes to pass when the Lord has not commanded it?,” Pastor Afolabi said, regardless of the machinations of men, Christians should focus on pleasing God and allow Him to handle their challenges.

Earlier in his opening charge, the Presiding Pastor and Convener, Pastor Ndaeyo Udomfuk, admonished Christians to hold onto God who alone is all powerful, unlimited, and all knowing.

He said though created by God, men are not all powerful, are limited, cannot live forever, and do not have control of time and season.

The commencement of the four – day convention featured choir ministrations and special presentations by children.
