Ndem rejects ‘trial and error’ in Senate representation, throws weight behind Ekong Sampson

Former Akwa Ibom lawmaker, Otobong Ndem has thrown his weight behind the reelection of Ekong Sampson, pointedly declaring that the Nigerian Senate is “not a place for trial and error”.

Ndem spoke with reporters yesterday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he emphasized that the complexities of national lawmaking and the current economic climate leave no room for legislative neophytes. He argued that the senatorial district requires a seasoned hand with proven intellectual depth rather than an untested experiment.

“I support Senator Ekong Sampson with every strength. Senate is not a platform for trial and error. I wholeheartedly support Senator Ekong Sampson’s re-election bid. His performance in the Senate has been outstanding, and I’m confident he’s the best fit for Eket Senatorial District. As a scholar and brilliant legislator, he’s brought numerous development projects, empowered youths, and effectively represented our interests,” he said.

Ndem who represented Mkpat Enin state constituency further thanked the elders of Mkpat Enin and other stakeholders for supporting Ekong Sampson for a second term.

He said “I commend the Mkpat Enin Elders and Stakeholders Forum, as well as the Eket Senatorial District Elders Forum, for their support. We’ll work tirelessly to ensure his return to the Senate, where he can continue driving progress and growth in our district.”

He concluded by calling on all the constituents to support Senator Ekong Sampson reelection as it is in the interest of the senatorial district.

“Senator Sampson return to the senate is in the larger interest of the senatorial district and the reason we should rally around him.
