A’IBOM SET TO RECEIVE FIRST LADY REMI TINUBU FOR INAUGURATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS CENTRE

as Gov Eno expresses confidence in facility management

As Akwa Ibom State government prepares to receive the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu Saturday March 7, 2026, for the inauguration of the premier senior citizens’ centre in the State, Governor Umo Eno has expressed confidence in the management of the facility to justify its purpose and ensure sustainability.

Fielding questions from Government House Correspondents shortly after inspecting the facility as part of preparations for its formal inauguration, the Governor said he was satisfied with the quality of the facility, as well as the policies put in place for its management.

“For me, to build is one thing, and to manage is another thing. But I have confidence in what i have seen, and the policies I have seen that this will be well managed for years to come.”

He expressed satisfaction at the level of completion of the facility, and commended the contractor, U&K Integrated Service Limited, for the quality and timely completion of the Job.

The State Chief Executive described the project as a strategic realization of the State’s vision to pamper Elderly Citizens through creation of special centres to provide care for them in the State.

He, therefore, invited everyone to come out en masse for the commissioning of the centre, as well as the Women’s Day celebration tomorrow at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium where the First Lady will be the special guest.
