Uduak Ikot Lays Foundation as Supervisor Builds Compassionate Home for Church, Empowers Women in Esit Eket
The Chairman, Esit Eket Local Government council, Hon. Mrs Uduak Ikemesit Ikot has performed ground breaking for the construction of a compassionate home for a mission house for Mount Zion Mission Incorporated, Edo Atai, Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The project, fully initiated by the Supervisor for Works in Esit Eket Local Government Area, Comrade Kingsley Archibong Bassey aimed at bringing development and evidence of good governance to the grassroots.
In her remarks, the council boss, who was represented at the event by the Supervisor for Environment, Rt. Hon. Imoh Jonah, expressed delight over the project initiated by member of his cabinet and commended the Supervisor for the gesture in following the footsteps of the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and good governance currently experiencing in Esit Eket.
The event also featured donatiin of wrapper to elderly women in the community and beyond as well as promise for empowerment of twenty youths in Esit Eket for training in different professional areas such as rigging, scaffolding, and welding.
Bassey in his speech, said he was motivated to embark on the project by his commitment and love for humanity, Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda as well as good governance and dividends of democracy brought to every part of Esit Eket by the Council Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Uduak Ikot, adding that the fatherly role played in his political career by Elder Benjamin Udobia and other well meaning personalities in Esit Eket also spurred him.
In their individual goodwill messages, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State council, Comrade Nsibiet John, President, Edo Traditional Rulers Council, Chief Uyongmkpo, aspirant for Eket Federal Constituency 2027, Engr. Michael Abakam, women and youth representatives and other well meaning personalities in the area commended the Supervisor for the gesture.
