GOV ENO FELICITATES AKUKU UDOUSUNG EKOROK ON CORONATION AS 2ND CLAN HEAD OF UKANA EAST

…Harps on Peaceful and Progressive Reign

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, has congratulated His Royal Highness, Akuku Udousung Ekorok Udofia, on his coronation as the Clan Head of Ukana East Clan in Essien Udim Local Government Area, urging the new monarch to promote peace, unity, and sustained development within the Clan.

The Governor’s message was delivered by the Dean of Commissioners/Special Advisers and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, at Ukana Unity Ground, Ukana East Community, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

In his congratulatory message, Governor Emo, described the historic occasion as a strong affirmation of trusted leadership and enduring cultural heritage, he noted that the ascension of Akuku Udousung Ekorok, to the revered throne of his forebears reflects the overwhelming confidence the people of Ukana East repose in his wisdom, integrity, and capacity to guide the Clan in these defining times.
“Traditional institutions remain vital pillars of stability and cultural preservation across the state. This auspicious occasion marks the affirmation of your leadership, character, and commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of the Ukana people,” the Governor stated.

He expressed confidence that the monarch’s reign would further strengthen harmony within the Clan, preserve the rich cultural heritage of Ukana East, and deepen unity among the people. He prayed for a peaceful and progressive tenure that would contribute significantly to the advancement of Essien Udim Local Government Area and Akwa Ibom State at large. He also urged traditional rulers to take full responsibility for safeguarding government projects within their respective domains, ensuring they are protected from vandalism.

The colourful ceremony attracted traditional rulers, political stakeholders, senior citizens, community leaders, and well-wishers. A major highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to eminent citizens in recognition of their meritorious, selfless, and impactful contributions to the development and unity of Essien Udim and the State.

Deputy Governor, Senator (Mrs) Akon Eyakenyi, was represented by Hon. Orman Esin, while the Chairman of the occasion was Obong Ifiok Charles Akpan, PhD. Dignitaries honoured at the event included Prince Enobong Uwah (SSG); Engr. Uwem Stephen Okoko (MD/CEO, Hensek Construction Services); Mrs. Victor Anta; Pastor Abasiandikan Nkono; Barr. Prince Ukpong Akpabio; and Mkpisong Frank Archibong.

The Executive Chairman of Essien Udim LGA, Hon. Ntiero Usoro, and the Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Barr. Prince Ukpong Akpabio, alongside the newly coronated Clan Head, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for honouring the people of Ukana East with his presence at the ceremony.
They used the occasion to reaffirm their unwavering political support for Governor Pastor Umo Eno, the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging continued loyalty and collaboration for the progress of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
